The Oldham Tinkers
Last updated: 10.10.23
p_oldhamtink.jpgAccording to the Internet source given below, The Oldham Tinkers formed in 1965 by John Howarth and the brothers Larry and Gerry Kearns after meeting in the Highfield and Park pub in Waterloo Street, Oldham.
The trio worked in pubs, folk clubs also making TV and radio appearances. In 1977 they were honoured to sing for Her Majesty the Queen and Prince Phillip at a Royal Gala Performance at the Palace Theatre, Manchester.
As well as children's songs they sing mostly of Oldham, past and present, with more of a hint of history and industry.
