She made recordings, appeared on stage, radio, television, and film during a 30-year career from the 1920s to the 1940s. As a child star, sometimes billed as Baby Sylvia, she was noted for her ability to mimic the vocal performances of celebrities such as Sophie Tucker and Marion Harris.
As an adult actress and singer she appeared on Broadway, toured Europe, South America, Canada and the United States as well as appearing on several radio shows.
She died in New York.
