These sonatas were written some for transverse flute and others for recorder with figured bass. They lend themselves to advanced players. The figured bass is playable with a bass recorder, some minor adjustments have to be made.
I very much enjoyed accompanying Nannette Wiethölter with my bass recorder as she played her flute in sonatas I and II (both in E minor) as well as sonata III in G minor.
