All that can presently (May 2013) be gleaned about by Internet searching is that Jay V. Youmans is the one-off composer of Yon Yonson's Version of a Cake-Walk (1899) published by Jay V. Youmans, Platteville, Wisconsin, USA.

Writing in January 2021, surfer Jim Aagaard of Wisconsin kindly drew my attention to a further work namely The Calendar March (1898) by this now obscure composer of his state. Many thanks Jim!
