Ian Leslie Shanahan (1962-)

He was born in Sydney studied composition (with Eric Gross and Peter Sculthorpe), computer music (with Ian Fredericks) and pure mathematics at the University of Sydney. His main recorder interests are extended performance techniques. and is well-regarded as an expert in contemporary techniques for the recorder. Having held positions at the New South Wales Conservatorium of Music, the University of Melbourne, and Goulburn TAFE College, he now teaches at the University of Sydney.
