According to the Internet source given below, Henry W. Ragas was an American jazz pianist and member of the Original Dixieland Jazz Band, the first jazz band to record commercially. A pioneering jazz pianist, he influenced later jazz bands emergeing in the 1930s and 1920s. Tiger Rag and Clarinet Marmalade (1918) were among the most important and most influential jazz recordings of all time.
Of ragtime interest is his recording of Reisenweber Rag (1918) by ''Nick'' D.J. La Rocca.
