According to the Internet source given below, Staffan Mossenmark was born Mjölby. He began writing music as a teenager while playing in pop and rock bands in his home commune of Östergötland. In the early 1980's, he studied music and piano at Vadstena Community College. After a short period as a freelance musician, he continued his studies at the Stockholm Institute of Music Pedagogic (SMI) with Prof. Radoslav Kvapil and Mats Persson as well as studying composition with Arne Mellnäs.
His chief interest are day-to-day sounds resulting in works that naturally stretch the boundaries of the different artistic categories involved. Compositions include Ozon I (Ozone I), for 33-voice mixed choir and electronic greeting cards; Ozon II for 24 ice cream trucks; Fån ("Phony") for cell phones; WROOM, a concerto for 100 Harley-Davidson motorcycles; and Iron, a concerto for bodybuilders. He has also written operas.
