According to the Internet website given below, Alfred von Beckerath studied musicology and composition at Frankfurt and Freiburg from 1920. Between 1923 and 1925 he studied composition in the "Akademie der Tonkunst", Munich, with Joseph Haas. He was a conductor in Halberstadt, Wiesbaden and Frankfurt, director of "Theater der Jugend" in Munich and musical director at "Stadttheater" in Ingolstadt from 1955. He composed symphonies, concerts for various instruments and vocal pieces.
