Joseph Gearen
Last updated: 14.10.17
Nothing is known about Joseph Gearen other than his only published work the cakewalk, Big Foot Lou (1899) whereby he distinguished himself by the use of "ragtime" in the finale of that piece.

Since writing the above sometime in 2006, Janice Bunker at Brigham Young University has kindly sent me (October 2017) a further 11 compositions by Joseph Gearen. A million thanks Janice!
