James Chapman
Last updated: 21.02.17
As with so many other early ragtime composers, practically nothing is known about James Chapman. From the bare facts given on the cover of the original sheet music to One O' Them Things! (1904) we learn that his co-author in this composition was a certain Leroy Smith. A connection with the same named dance orchestra which recorded in the early 1920's has not yet been established.
