Reunion with Blue Monday, Emsdetten/Münster on 3rd - 4th March 2001
As part of their preparations for their oncoming tour of New Zealand, Singapore and Malaysia in April 2001, Gesa Scharf and Geoff Grainger visited Bettina Kiefner at her home on Saturday, 3rd March in Emsdetten where together with her long-time partner, Elisabeth Book, they worked through their tour quartet and quintet repertoire. On Sunday, Bettina was quite suddenly taken ill and the recital planned to be given for family and friends in Elisabeth's home in Münster had to be hastily revised as a trio programme. The recital was well received by those present and The Company was presented with a set of works by Tielman Susato marking this delightful and very friendly occasion.
The following works were covered during the workshop:
Take Five by Paul Desmond , Tango für Elise by Paul Leenhouts , Feuerwerksmusik by George Friederic Handel , Piccola Serenata by Antonio Salieri , Chattanooga Choo Choo by Harry Warren , Moonlight Serenade by Glenn Miller , Tea for Two by Vincent Millie Youmans , The Entertainer and New Rag by Scott Joplin , Whistling Rufus by Kerry Mills and Fantasy 1 from Zwei Fantasien zu drei Stimmen by John Cooper .
