Old Skibereen

"Old Skibereen" is a song of the potato famine in the 1840's and emigration to America. I happened on this song in Soodlum's 100 Irish Ballads Volume 1. It gives a father's account of eviction to his son who knows nothing of life in Ireland, and his son's resolution of going back to Ireland to fight for the cause.
