Michael Schneider (1953-)

As gleaned from the website below, Michael Schneider was born in 1953 and studied recorder and baroque flute (Prof. Günther Höller) at the Musikhochschule Köln. He studies privately with Walter van Hauwe (Amsterdam). He won the ARD Munich International Music Contest in 1978 and since then has been very active in international concerts as soloist and as a member of the "Camerata Köln". Michael Schneider works with "Musica Antiqua Köln". In 1980 he taught at the "Hochschule der Künste" (University of Arts) Berlin changing in 1983 to the Musikhochschule Frankfurt/Main as head of the recorder course and the Ancient Music department. He founded the baroque orchestra "La Stagione" Frankfurt/Main in 1988. Photo: courtesy "Camerata Köln".
