According to the Internet source given below, Paul Carroll has been variously a composer, educator, chorister, organist, choirmaster and instrumentalist. His instruments include bassoon, baroque bassoon, baroque flute, oboe and recorder.
He studied bassoon with Geoffrey Gambold at the Royal College of Music, London in 1973 achieving an ARCM diploma with honours in 1977. On leaving the Royal College he worked as a session musician mostly in television and pursued his career as a soloist and chamber musician.
Of recorder interest is his chamber ensemble Badinage which he founded in 1985.
