These "Four Galliards" by Giovani Maria Trabaci was one of the first five works which I selected for use by The Schwanewede Recorder Consort in 1981. It eventually became one of our best items and attracted a particularly nice local press notice when playing in Huddersfield Town Hall, England during a tour of West Yorkshire with the consort in 1982. The press notice described the galliards as "summery" which I felt to be quite appropriate.
