I bought "Seven English Pieces" (16th- and 17th-century) for my own pleasure sometime at the end of or the middle of the 1980's. These are of medium difficulty (the difficulty being the top Fs and Gs for some of the pieces). The pieces are by good old
Anon ("A Measure" and, appropriately, "Nobody's Jigg"),
William Byrd ("A Jigg") and
William Lawes ("Almain", "Courant", "Saraband" and finally a further "Jigg").
I hope to play some of them in the near future (2000) accompanied by
Egbert Heiß.
