This "Sonata in B flat" by G.F. Handel was amongst the first purchases that I made whilst still a young Petty Officer on H.M.S. Victorious in January 1965. According to the editor's notes this sonata (for oboe and figured bass) has been edited from Handel's autograph MS. in the Fitzwilliam Museum, Cambridge (30 H 11). The suite compises an Andante, Grave and Allegro. Whilst the first two movements presented me no great difficulty, I could only play the Allegro at much to slow a pace. Definitely a piece for advanced players.
