Length: approx. 4½ mins.
The Race Course was probably Glogau's first published work and it was arranged and published by Edward Taylor Paull who was and still is renowned for the splendid artwork used on the covers of his sheet music. That used for The Race Course shows appropriately a colourful horse racing scene. The march itself is longish in AABBCCAABB form with a 4-bar introduction and three interludes between the BC, CC and CA strains each of 4-, 12- and 4-bars respectively. An all tenor/bass affair in which the 1st tenor will especially delight having all the melodies from start to finish. A great piece for tenor players!
The Race Course was published by E. T. Paull Music Co., New York, USA.
A tempo of 96 crotchets/min. is suggested.
