I was introduced to these choral works for two choirs by Stephan Schrader at a wonderful weekend seminar mentioned in the anecdote to The Recorder Consort. That such works can be performed by recorder ensembles with great effect was amply demonstrated by Stephan. The two dialogues are Cantiam lieti cantiamo and Concerto de' pastori. I found the first work especially demanding with the rhythm changes and the long pauses, for a player such as myself I was given opportunity enough to make a fool of myself.
