This item is a recent (October 2001) great treasure which I first heard whilst on tour with the Bremen Recorder Touring Company in Yorkshire, England. David Grosvenor introduced it to us as his guests whilst performing with him at a home for multiple sclerosis patients. Having already sung this Requiem in the bass voice with the "Heinrich-Schütz-Chor", Leer, Germany in 1999, also a tremendous and moving experience, it was totally unexpected and quite beautiful.
David has done a great job in transcribing it for recorders, none of the beauty has been lost. Here in Germany however, it will be quite difficult finding the 2 basses and 2 great basses for which it is scored.
