Peanuts, with such a title and subtitle, can surely not be taken particularly seriously. This piece was long attributed to Chas. L. Johnson under the assumption that Ethel Earnist was a pseudonym and not a real person. It is indeed a very jolly rag with some nice touches (the Joplin-like "cascades" in first part of the trio for example) and requires very exact tonguing in this recorder adaptation.
A tempo of 90 crotchets/min. is suggested.
Peanuts was published by Chas. L. Johnson Publishing Co., Kansas City, Missouri, USA.
This recorder adaptation is respectfully dedicated to Susanne [Suse] Wollin, a great pal, a Rönnebeck Girl and as least as "nutty" as this rag.
