This adaptation for recorder is taken from a single sheet of piano music so it may not represent the complete composition. It has such a delightful melody however, that it seems a shame not to publish it. It is published therefore in the hope that someone in cyberspace will inform the editor either that it is indeed a one-page composition or provide access to the possible missing pages.
The High Brows has an AABB form with a 4-bar introduction and is written in the major key of D. It is a must for for those lofty and intellectual recorder ensembles!
The High Brows was published by Walter Jacobs, Boston, Massachusetts, USA.
A tempo of 150 crotchets/min. is suggested.
