Length: approx. 3 mins.
Aggravation Rag is a straightforward, jolly rag in AABBACC form with a 4-bar introduction. It is also by the way, not noticeably aggravating as a piano composition but perhaps the title is quite apt for this recorder transcription. The treble and 1st tenor voices share the melody line almost equally, the 2nd tenor has his/her share of the runs whilst the bass voices explore the full compass of their instruments. A splendid ragtime ensemble piece!
Aggravation Rag was published by Walter Jacobs, Boston, Massachusetts, USA.
A tempo of 80 crotchets/min. is suggested.
