Camilla Thiele  (1886-1915)

According to Nora Hulse in her 24 Piano Rags, Camilla Thiele was an American singer, pianist and composer born in Jefferson, Wisconsin. Her father was a band/orchestra director and she studied music at the Chicago Musical College. In ragtime circles, she is known for her Ripples Rag (1912) but is reported to have written a number of "excellent" compositions. She died in Janesville, Wisconsin after an 18 months illness contracted whilst performing in an opera in St. Louis.
