Ernst Rueffer
Last updated: 03.11.17
Many thanks to surfer Gail Nye who in January 2015 drew my attention to the fact that Ernst Rueffer is not a one-off composer as I had assumed in 2013.
The covers of his Jolly Pickanninies (1905), which is of ragtime interest, list other works written and self-published by him between 1896 and 1904.
Further Internet researches reveal that he was a German immigrant in New York at the turn of the previous century with connections to the German Immigrant Theater. Besides being a music publisher and composer of popular music he also arranged other composers' works for the zither.
Thanks a million Gail!
