According to the Internet source given below, Louis J. Panella was an American musician, composer, teacher and publisher.
He wrote popular songs and works for concert band. His brother was Frank Panella. Louis Panella played trumpet with the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra and taught trumpet at the Carnegie Institute of Technology (now Carnegie-Mellon University).
His best known composition is a concert band march, American Red Cross (1918) published by C. L. Barnhouse Company, Oskaloosa, Iowa, USA.
Of ragtime interest is That Spooky Rag (1912) published by Panella Music Co., Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA.
