Last updated: 01.02.21
According to The New Penguin Dictionary of Music, Enrique Granados was a Spanish composer (pupil of Pedrell), also pianist and conductor; his 7 operas include "Goyescas", partly based on piano works of the same name. Wrote also other piano music, orchestral works and songs, cultivating Spanish "nationalist" idiom. Died when the ship on which he was returning from New York was torpedoed by a German submarine.
