William Dixon  (18th Cent.)
Last updated: 02.04.23
William Dixon was an 18th century Northumbrian bagpiper known today for his collection of bagpipe music, the earliest published manuscript of such music in Great Britain dated 1733 and now held in a Perth library in Scotland. All that is known about him is derived from parish records whereby he apparently lived in Fenwick near Stamfordham, South Northumberland.
