According to the Internet source given below, Violeta Dinescu is a Romanian composer. She studied composition, piano and pedagogy at the Ciprian Porumbescu Conservatory in Bucharest. She also studied composition with Myriam L. Marbe. She taught theory, piano and aesthetics at the George Enescu Music School in Bucharest. Violeta Dinescu became a composition professor at the Carl von Ossietzky University in Oldenburg in 1996. Her major commissioned works include "Akrostichon" and "L'Ora X" for orchestra, the music for the F.W. Murnau film "Tabu"; the ballets "Der Kreisel", "Effi Briest"; operas "Hunger und Durst", "Erendira" and "Schachnovelle".
