According to the Internet source given below, Francis John Dickson was born in Camberwell, London. Using the pseudonym R. B. Saxe he was variously a lyricist, pianist, a comic book writer and crime novel writer.
He first comic song The Ghost of the Stilton Cheese (1916), co-authored with Harry Stafford was published by Francis, Day & Hunter, London W.C.2, England. Later as a jazz pianist he played regularly at the Trident Club in London in 1928.
