Fannie Beane

p_beanef.jpgIt is surprising that so little is known about this performer considering the large number of items located. All that can presently (March 2025) be gleaned about Fannie Beane from sheet music covers and by Internet searching is that she was one of the earliest vaudeville dancer comediennes.
Her career commenced in 1875. She partnered Charles Gilday, who she married in 1883, as traveling comedy performers.
She has been featured on 13 works published between 1879 and 1884 and composed of three of them.
Call Me Back Again (1884) published by Frederick Blume, New York, USA was however subject to a copyright lawsuit.
Her portrait on the left is taken from a Vintage Cabinet Card by Sarony.

Surfers are welcome to contribute any further information about this composer.
