From Horn Book
Thirty-seven lullabies are illustrated with paintings, photographs, and artifacts from New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art. While most of the selections are from America and the British Isles, there are also a few songs from other countries. The art, representing many times and cultures, illustrates the moods of the songs rather than the settings. Some awkward page turns disrupt an otherwise superlative songbook. -- Copyright © 1998 The Horn Book, Inc. All rights reserved.
Beautiful lullabies, December 4, 1999
Reviewer: A reader from Baltimore, MD
This book is gorgeous. My husband and I are new parents and it has been a joy to sing these clasic
lullabies for our new son. The CD is marketed by amazon under the classical music section. It's
entitled Lullabies: A songbook companion. It is beautifully recorded. The set is the perfect gift for
new parents.
