Grace Wilson (1890-1962)
Last updated: 15.02.25
p_wilsong.jpgIt is surprising that so little is known about this performer considering the large number of items located. All that can presently (February 2025) be gleaned about Grace Wilson from sheet music covers and by Internet searching is that she was an American singer who has been featured on 12 works published between 1910 and 1924.
Known as The girls with a million friends, she sang on the first and last WLS National Barn Dance broadcasts in 1924 and 1961 respectively.
She also recorded at least 23 numbers on the Victor and Gennet labels between 1924 and 1934.
Her portrait on the left is taken from You Can't Expect Kisses From Me (1911) music by Rubey Cowan, words by Roger Lewis and published by Will Rossiter, Chicago, Illinois, USA.
Surfers are welcome to contribute any further information about this performer.
