p_normandm.jpgAccording to the Internet source given below, Amabel Ethelreid Normand was an American silent-film actress, screenwriter, director, and producer in born New Brighton, Richmond County, New York.
A popular star and collaborator of Mack Sennett in his Keystone Studios she appeared in/directed/co-writ some 39 films with Charlie Chaplin and Roscoe "Fatty" Arbuckle as leading men.
She opened her own company in partnership with Mack Sennett 1916 but lost it in 1918 as a a subsidiary of the Triangle Film Corporation.
Linked with scandals and poor health film career declined in the 1920s.
She died in in Monrovia, California.
