p_bloree.jpgEric Blore Sr. was an English actor and writer born in Finchley, London.
He was educated at Mills School, Finchley and worked for an insurance company untl embarking on a theatrical career. He started mostly by working in the West End of London in revues, musical comedies and straight plays. He also wrote sketches for and appeared in variety and music halls. In the 1930s Blore performed mostly in Broadway productions making his last London appearance in 1933. Between 1930 and 1955 he made more than 60 Hollywood films, becoming particularly well known for playing butlers and other superior domestic servants.
He died in Hollywood.
