p_beauchampg.jpgAccording to the Internet source given below, George Beauchamp born as Sarsfield Patrick Beauchamp in Southwark, London.
He was a compositor at a printing company before becoming an actor in a theatre company specialising in melodramas and Shakespeare in 1879. In 1882 he billed himself as an "eccentric vocal character comedian" appearing in shows and pantomimes in the north of England, London and the United States. He also toured Australia in 1898.
Present Internet searching (March 2021) has located 24 items of sheet music the cover of which feature him. Ten of the songs that he sang are listed at monologues.co.uk
The best known song is probably She Was One of the Early Birds, and I Was One of the Worms (1895) by T.W. Connor which is given in 60 Old-Time Variety Songs.
He married fellow performer Nellie Lingard in 1889 but she died of tuberculosis ten years later.
Beauchamp died in Liverpool one year later.
