p_armsfran.jpgIt is surprising that so little is known about this performer considering the large number of items located. All that can presently (April 2025) be gleaned about Frances Arms from sheet music covers and by Internet searching is that she was an American singer who has been featured on 11 works published between 1918 and 1926.
She played the minor role of Momma Ingleborg in the American romantic comedy film Never Say Die (1939) which starred Martha Raye and Bob Hope.
An obituary published by The Stage published on Thursday 25 November 1976 records as follows:
FRANCES ARMS (Frances Armhaus), one of America's foremost vaudeville songstresses of an early era, died recently, at the age of 83, at her home in Beverley Hills, California. Born in East Harlem, New York, she had a great and successful career.

Her portrait on the left is taken from If He Can Fight Like He Can Love, Good Night Germany! (1918) music by George W. Meyer, words by Howard Emmett Rogers & Grant Clarke and published by Leo Feist, New York, USA.
