Ugly Dave
Last updated: 11.10.23
Ugly Dave, aka The Flash Stockman, is boasting rapid, rousing song of a person who must be the world's best stockman that ever drew breath. His ugliness is described in the line "I'm old and grey and I've only got one eye" but despite this there are three long twelve-line verses extolling his prowess in all the stockman's disciplines, including of course "... being a right down bobby-dazzler in the pub."
This song was also learned right out of The Bushwackers Australian Song Book and was a great hit at Steve Kelly's Australia Day party in 1994 where it was sung many times because one of his guests also happened to be named Dave.
