The Shores of Amerikay
Last updated: 11.10.23
"The shores of Amerikay" is a fine emigration song which I found in good old Soodlum's 100 Irish Ballads Volume 1. From the educated spelling of America you can tell that the song is pretty old. Or is it the Irish way of making "... so far away" rhyme with America?. Joking aside the song is a joy to sing and has become one of my favourites.
