Old Sailors Never Die
Last updated: 22.01.22
I came across "Old Sailors Never Die" whilst browsing through The Book of Navy Songs (Trident Society 1955) and looking for something to play on my concertina on Boxing Day in 1991. It is very short and can hardly deserves the merit of being called a song at all. It's a one-liner where the title is repeated a couple of times and concludes with "they just fade away". The book describes this song engagingly as a wardroom song.
The tune is fine enough however and it allows me to show-off my "virtuosity" on the concertina.
