The Moonshiner
Last updated: 11.10.23
I came across "The Moonshiner" in Soodlum's 100 Irish Ballads Volume 2 and its melody is very reminiscent of The Wild Rover. I sing it but rarely, generally as a programme filler. A moonshiner is of course a person who distils and drinks illicit alcohol by moonlight, obviously a very respected pillar of society.
