The Jolly Shepherd is one of my absolute favourite Peter Warlock songs which can be found in Warlock Songs It was inspired by a poem from Wit and Drollery (1661) and is used as the song's lyrics. It came into my repertoire via Dr. Rosteck and he and I have performed it publicly on a number of occasions.
As a bass singer, I found it very challenging and a lot of puff is needed to sing it comfortably.
