One of the Has-beens
Last updated: 11.10.23
"One of the Has-beens" is a nice sheep-shearing song that can be found in The Bushwackers Australian Song Book. It's fairly short, just three verses, about an old shearer telling the world about what a terrific bloke he was before becoming a "has-been". I like the melody very much, especially when it goes down into the cellar and I sing it very often. Being a has-been myself, I have no problem in relating to this fine Digger folk-song.
