I first heard the Drinking Song being sung by Mario Lanza, I believe, together with by brother Peter whilst seeing the film "The Student Prince" at the Northwick Cinema, Worcester, England sometime in the early 1960's. We enjoyed the film so much we watched it for a second time round. I never sang it myself until after coming across it in Busking for Special Occaisions. It's a really great song for belting out and its sentiments are in complete accord with my own.
