Country Life is a great sing-along song with rousing chorus made famous by
The Watersons. I first began to appreciate it after hearing it, and joining in the chorus, several times in the
Cumberland Arms in
Byker from early 2011 when I first arrived in
Newcastle upon Tyne. Finally, in May 2013, I've buckled down and taken it into my personal repertoire. It is a fine song about rural life as the seasons pass, the seasonal tasks and above all the unsurpassed joys of
rambling through the new mowed hay.
