The German Clockwinder
Last updated: 11.10.23
I first happened upon "The German Clockwinder" in Soodlum's 100 Irish Ballads Volume 1 and have since found other versions in the Internet. It's an amusing short story and having some German knowledge I found the spelling of "Benjamin Fooks" especially droll. It's quite tuneful with a nice tongue twisting chorus.
