Between Me and You
Last updated: 07.12.22
I first heard "Between me and you" sung by Antoinette MacKenna on Wally Whyton's Folk Music programme sometime in the early eighties but took it into my repertoire in 1994 at the insistence of a certain Kerstin Knie who sang with me for a few months in that year. I asked her to listen to my library of tapes and see if she could find something to suite her voice and this is one of the songs she came up with. She sang it very prettily, too. The song's of a young mother talking to her baby and confiding her disbelief regarding her good-for-nothing husband's reasons for being unwell.
