Affetside Carol
Last updated: 22.01.22
Affetside Carol is a modern carol that I learned upon joining the Tyneside Maritime Chorus in early 2011. The lyrics by the Bury poet, Keith Scowcroft, are sung to a tune by Derek Gifford. The title takes its name from the village of Affetside in the Metropolitan Borough of Bury where the poet took his inspiration.
This song may be found in the Tyneside Maritime Chorus songbook
