rpkneihs.jpgAccording to the website given below, Hans Maria Kneihs was born in Vienna in 1943. He studied cello (with Frieda Litschauer), recorder (with Elisabeth Schaeftlein) and piano (with Gershon Jarecki) at the University of Music and Performing Arts, Vienna.
Hans Maria Kneihs was cellist with the Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra from 1964 to 1969 after which he left to devote his time to the recorder both as player and teacher.
He has made radio and television appearances in most countries in Europe, Japan, Australia and the USA. In 1972 Hans Maria Kneihs founded and lead the Wiener Blockflötenensemble until it disbanded in 1985.
