According to the website given below, László Czidra was one of the most significant contemporary recorder players of our time. He also played several other early woodwind instruments.
László Czidra was not only a first class performer but a notable musicologist. As the artistic director of the Camerata Hungarica, he accomplished unique activities in the field of early music. The first complete practical classification of the early Hungarian and East-European music as well as the popularisation of these musical treasures in concerts and recordings at a high artistic level was achieved. Camerata Hungarica's repertoire comprising all Hungarian and East-European music as well as most of the West European programme is of his authentic arrangements.
